National Coin Week is right around the corner. In 2018, it will be taking place from April 15th through the 21st. The goal of the event is to attract new fans to numismatics, the study of currency. Coin collectors from around the globe take part in this annual event, but you don’t need to wait until April to show your love of coin collecting. Here’s a look at some exciting coin-related trade shows coming up in the new year. 

FUN Convention

This year marks the 63rd incarnation of the Florida United Numismatics (FUN) Convention. It will occur January 4th through the 7th, and admission is free for the general public. You’ll have a chance to visit more than 600 coin dealers in search of that perfect new coin to add to your collection. There will also be a variety of educational programs to help you deepen your study of numismatics, as well as a special area just for children to help them learn more about the hobby of coin collection.

Houston Money Show

This trade show is in its 61st year, with this year’s convention falling January 19th through the 20th. Admission for each day is just $3 for adults; children aged 17 and under are free. The first 1,000 kids in attendance will even receive a free quarter as a welcome gift to get them excited about coins. Throughout the trade show, you’ll have the chance to purchase coins, paper money, books and numismatic accessories. You can also take part in educational seminars and other family-oriented entertainment.

The Long Beach Expo aims to provide a complete collector's marketplace. In addition to coins, this trade show also showcases stamps, sports memorabilia, and other collectible items.
